J Wright Roofing has been named one of the sector’s best training providers at the inaugural Building Communities in the East Midlands (BCEM) Awards.
Managing director Jason Wright and his team were awarded runner-up in the Training category, coming second only to BEST Build at the event held at East Midlands Conference Centre on February 6.
Mr. Wright said:
“J Wright Roofing is delighted to receive the runner-up award for training from the BCEM Awards 2015. We are committed to training our workforce to high standards and it is good to have recognition for all the hard work that we have put in as a team.”
Three hundred and fifty representatives from housing providers and construction firms across the East Midlands came together for the awards ceremony, hosted by regional procurement consortium, Efficiency East Midlands (EEM).
Pete Smith, managing director of EEM, decided to set up the awards to recognise the work of the region’s housing organisations and contractors, both in the public and private sector.
He said:
“These awards celebrate the region’s commitment to building communities, creating sustainable homes and working collaboratively to support affordable rent through innovative schemes.
“We were overwhelmed at quality of the entries we received and the winners are all very deserving of their awards.”
J Wright Roofing, who sponsored the apprentice award, joined EEM and a number of other organisations who through their support helped to make the event possible and raise œ10,000 on the night, which was donated to EEM’s chosen charity for 2015, Steps Conductive Education Centre.
