Knauf Insulation shows charitable spirit

knaufKnauf Insulation has donated 65 rolls of its Earthwool Loft Roll insulation to help homeless charity CRASH transform an old bus garage into nine self-contained bedsits for Cheshire-based charity, MoCoCo.

Following the publication of figures showing that more than half of teenagers leaving local authority care are being placed in unsafe and unsuitable accommodation, MoCoCo approached CRASH for help in transforming the inhabitable building into living quarters.

Working alongside fellow CRASH patron companies, Knauf Insulation donated Earthwool Loft Roll to improve the thermal and acoustic performance of the building.

Jeanette Davidson, centre manager at MoCoCo House, said:

“MoCoCo House, which could not have been established without CRASH, will provide a safe, secure and supportive environment to help homeless young adults grow and develop and be empowered to manage their own life for the future.”

David Moore, chair of MoCoCo House Trustees, added:

“For many years we have helped a small number of young people as they make the transition into adult life by supporting their housing needs and we’re now pleased to launch MoCoCo House, which will make a real difference.

“We already have our first resident, a young man who moved into the house before Christmas. Therefore, I’d like to thank CRASH and all of its patrons helping us to achieve our MoCoCo House dream.”
