Keymer returns to market from new Wienerberger home

keymerKeymer has been officially relaunched from a factory in Ewhurst, Surrey by Wienerberger, which added the brand to its product portfolio in November 2014. This marks the fourth time in Keymer’s 400-year history that it has moved.

The company’s new home at the Ewhurst factory was officially reopened by housing minister, Brandon Lewis MP, on March 2 and will produce Keymer’s handmade clay tiles using the orange clays of the South Weald and the same traditional equipment and processes as before.

Harald Schwarzmayr, managing director at Wienerberger, said:

“This is a very exciting time for both Wienerberger and Keymer and it is fantastic to be able to officially launch the brand from its new home at Ewhurst. The addition of the Keymer brand, which was established in 1588, to the Wienerberger portfolio has expanded our product offering to include these unique beautiful, traditional handmade tiles, and ensures that this UK heritage brand is in safe hands for the future.

“Following its move to Wienerberger, we will continue to supply Keymer tiles and products manufactured using the same traditional processes and to the same quality and standards which are synonymous with the celebrated Keymer brand.”
