Kili charity climb complete

bb6968f617b8c369_orgTwo business development managers from SR Timber have successfully reached the peak of their Mount Kilimanjaro challenge in support of The British Heart Foundation.

In honour of the company’s 10th anniversary, SR Timber’s Richard Stone and Jason Lumley embarked on the expedition on August 18, 2016. After seven days of trekking, the pair successfully summated Uhuru Peak, 5,895m above sea level.

The money raised from the challenge will be donated to The British Heart Foundation, the UK’s largest charity fighting heart and circulatory disease and a cause dear to Richard, Jason and the SR Timber team.

Setting a target of £5,000, everyone at SR Timber has been determined and passionate to raise funds for the charity that continues to transform the lives of millions of people.

Commenting on their success, Richard Stone said: “It was a tough challenge – probably the hardest physical challenge of my life. However, when you take those final steps to the very top of the mountain it makes it all worth it – a view and feeling I’ll never forget; a dream come true for me as a keen trekker. A huge, mountainous thank you to everyone who has donated; you kept us going, but more importantly, the funds raised will change the lives of many!”
