Kingspan Insulation has announced the launch of its latest RIBA-certified Continuing Professional Development (CPD), ‘Façades and Fire Safety: Routes to Compliance’, on the regulatory requirements for rainscreen clad buildings; in particular, those with habitable storeys over 18m.
RIBA CPDs provide self-directed, informal learning that ensures architects and construction professionals have access to a wealth of training material that is up-to-date and aids career growth.
The new CPD discusses rainscreen and masonry façades in habitable high rise buildings of 18m or above, and how to comply with the fire safety requirements of the Building Regulations and Standards.
By the end of the CPD, it should be clear what is deemed acceptable by Fire Safety Engineers, BCBs, as well as Warranty and Insurance providers. The presentation also covers legislation and guidance in England, Wales and Scotland that is pertinent to these projects.
CPD is mandatory for RIBA Chartered Architects and, to maintain RIBA accreditation, professionals should aim to accrue 100 CPD points each year.
RIBA Approved CPD material is worth double points, providing busy Architects with a distinct advantage. In this way, industry leaders can distinguish themselves from their competition by building upon their expertise with the use of discussions, white papers, and videos on subjects that are relevant and of interest to them.
As members of the RIBA CPD Providers Network, Kingspan Insulation can offer guidance on fire safety when specifying premium performance rigid phenolic insulation for buildings above 18m.
