Lakesmere has been confirmed as the winner of the Teamkal Contractor of the Year award at this year’s annual Kalzip Teamkal Conference and Awards Ceremony.
Dr. Joerg Schwall, managing director of Kalzip Europe, presented the awards to Paul Mann, sales director, David Gray, managing director for the north and and a number of other representatives from Lakesmere, at the ceremony held at Carden Park, Chester.
Tony Mills, general manager of Kalzip, said: “Throughout 2015, we have worked very closely with Lakesmere on several project opportunities and from doing so, we have strengthened our collaborative approach and built on the mutual success of our businesses, the Teamkal Network and Kalzip brand.
“The company has shown a real commitment to deliver the right solution to its clients and its continuing determination to build on its success is remarkable. As such, we are delighted to award Lakesmere with the Contractor of the Year award this year – it is truly deserved.”
In addition to winning Contractor of the Year 2016, Lakesmere also scooped the award for Best Kalzip Project over 1500m² through its work on The Kelvin Hall in Glasgow, where the grade-two listed building has been converted into a cultural centre and sports venue.
The company says that, as a refurbishment project, it presented Lakesmere with some unique challenges including complex design and logistical considerations. However, the contractor successfully installed Kalzip’s AluPlusPatina, which has resulted in a contemporary new roof that preserves the character of the building, while providing a reliable, long-lasting and robust solution.
