Langley Waterproofing Systems has received a Silver National Award at the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s 2019 National Company and Supplier Awards, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to achieving the highest standards of consideration towards the neighbourhood and general public, the workforce and the environment.
The National Company and Supplier Awards celebrates companies and suppliers registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme, based on their performance against the scheme’s ‘Code of Considerate Practice’.
Companies and suppliers are monitored and only the highest-performing construction companies and suppliers that have demonstrated excellence in relation to the community, the environment and their workforce have been recognised by the scheme with a National Award.
To receive the Silver National Supplier Award, the Scheme’s Monitor found that Langley had worked hard to embed the scheme’s values and behaviours across the business at all levels, with exceptional scoring for safety and skills training. This training includes comprehensive courses for Langley’s internal and external teams and a range of courses in upskilling roofing contractors in the industry.
Nicola Jeffries, head of administration, quality and compliance at Langley Waterproofing Systems, said: “Being monitored by an independent organisation has meant that Langley has successfully demonstrated its contribution to the industry and its dedication to improving the construction industry’s image. Achieving this recognition from the Considerate Constructors Scheme is testament to our continued high standards.
“Langley is dedicated to the aims of the scheme and promoting the industry in all that we do. We know that our clients, in turn will benefit from these values, so we are proud that our efforts have been reflected with this award. We believe that businesses participating in the scheme can collectively lead national change by making improvements to industry practices and thereby improving the image of construction as a whole.”
The scheme is nationally recognised and highly regarded by local authorities, the government, main contractors and major industry clients. Langley has worked with key supporters of the Scheme, including the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and Local Authority Building Control (LABC) to improve the image of the sector.
Amanda Long, chief executive of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, said: “The highest-performing Scheme-registered companies and suppliers are committed to raising the bar of considerate construction to higher standards, and we are delighted to be recognising these organisations at the National Company and Supplier awards.
“Everyone has a crucial role to play in making our industry more considerate to our workforce, communities and the environment.”
