Firestone Building Products has appointed Macleod Roofing in Inverness as its latest Licensed Contractor.
Firestone’s Licensed Contractor scheme is designed to ensure that the company’s EPDM and TPO single ply roofing membranes are always installed to the highest standards to provide maximum service life and leak-free performance.
To qualify, Macleod Roofing had to ensure every member of its team installing Firestone products had been fully trained by the manufacturer, while key projects were also monitored and approved by Firestone’s technical team to verify that the training was applied on site to best practice installation standards.
Recent Macleod Roofing projects audited by Firestone include installations at Pennyland Primary School and Mount Pleasant, both located in Thurso. Firestone also audited a 5,000m2 roof refurbishment carried out by Macleod Roofing at Golspie High School for The Highland Council.
Sandy Macleod, managing director of Macleod Roofing, said: “Throughout the Licensed Contractor accreditation process, Firestone has been extremely supportive, ensuring that the team here is confident in installing the company’s products and troubleshooting on site to enable us to develop our techniques for a faster installation and a more robust end result.
“The location in which we operate is known for its inclement weather and we’re delighted to have become a Licensed Contractor for a system that has been proven to offer a long and reliable service life, even in the most extreme climates.”
John McMullan, commercial manager at Firestone, added: “We support contractors that use our roofing products with training and accreditation because we want installations to be as durable as possible and end users to be confident of an excellent result.
“Macleod Roofing has passed all our criteria with flying colours and we look forward to developing our relationship with them in the future.”
