To guarantee the safety of attendees and with no clear government guidance regarding future large gatherings, the NFRC’s UK Roofing Awards have been delayed until 28 May 2021.
The venue will remain at the InterContinental London – the O2. All shortlisted entries will carry over for the 2021 awards and nominations for 2021 project submissions will re-open shortly. All tickets and room bookings will be automatically carried over. For those unable to attend the rescheduled date, refunds can be obtained by emailing events@nfrc.co.uk.
Commenting on the announcement, James Talman, chief executive of the NFRC, said: “We have taken the decision to delay the UK Roofing Awards with a heavy heart. The threat posed by COVID-19 is still very much present. Social distancing guidelines are likely to be in place for at-least the short-to-medium term and avoiding a second peak is very much on everyone’s mind. The safety of the attendees must come first. We, therefore, hope the industry understand why we had to take the decision we did.”
James added: “All is not lost, however. We are planning a bigger and better awards ceremony for 2021. We urge roofing contractors to put themselves forward, if they have not done so already, for an award. Coming out of this pandemic we will need all the good news we can get, and what better way to do that than celebrate the successes of our industry!”
