QUALICOAT UK & Ireland has published the 26th Edition of the QUALICOAT Specifications.
Presented across three volumes, the updated Specifications contain guidance for organisations seeking to obtain and retain the QUALICOAT quality label.
The specifications apply directly to powder coaters, chemical pre-treatment manufacturers and powder manufacturers. However, QUALICOAT has called on architects, specifiers, contractors and aluminium systems houses to ensure their supply chains are working to the latest edition. The organisation stated that clear and accurate referencing of QUALICOAT Specifications – 26th Edition within project documentation is also recommended.
Chris Mansfield, chair of QUALICOAT UK & Ireland, said: “Specifications evolve for a reason; they are active documents. Referencing outdated information can introduce unnecessary risk, whether that’s reduced coating performance, non-compliance or challenges further down the supply chain. The 26th Edition reflects current best practice based on previous experience, new and additional testing regimes and R&D by our Technical Committee, and provides an up-to-date, internationally recognised benchmark.”
The Specifications are divided into volumes dedicated to a specific part in the quality system. Each specification outlines the minimum technical and operational requirements that must be met before a QUALICOAT licence is granted.
The 26th Edition of the QUALICOAT Specifications is a controlled document and is available via QUALICOAT UK & Ireland secretariat, Jan Lukaszewski. Download the summary document through the organisation’s website.
