The sales team of Russell Roof Tiles is aiming to shed the pounds for charity by losing weight in support of the company’s chosen cause, Macmillan Cancer Support.
The team of 15, which includes the company’s managing director, Andrew Hayward, is hoping to raise œ600 by losing 12st 7lbs in just nine weeks. This equates to approximately 60 of the company’s concrete plain tiles, and will require each member to lose an average of more than 11lbs each.
Andrew Hayward said: “It’s great to get the team together to fundraise. We thought burning off those few extra pounds would be a great way to raise money and promote a healthier team, making sure they are fighting fit.
“Macmillan Cancer Support is one of two charities that have been chosen by Russell Roof Tiles for fundraising activities throughout our anniversary year. One in two people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives, and many of our staff have been touched by the disease. Macmillan does a lot to help those affected.”
The group will weigh themselves weekly up until the end of the challenge on July 3, 2015. They will also be checked every three weeks to ensure that their weight loss is sensible and controlled.
