Selco returns to seven day opening

Selco Builders Warehouse will further enhance its post-lockdown offering by returning to Sunday trading this week (week commencing 3 August).

The builders’ merchant’s 68 branches will all open on Sundays between 10am and 4pm, starting on 9 August.

A programme to reopen cafes – offering a takeaway service only at this stage – began on 3 August.

Selco closed its entire branch network and delivery operations when lockdown began on 23 March and began the process of reopening in early May.

Initially, branches reopened to support Click & Collect and Click & Deliver orders only before customers were allowed back through the doors.

Howard Luft, chief executive of Selco Builders Warehouse, said: “We are delighted to be resuming Sunday trading, and this is the latest measure to support the work of tradespeople, while retaining the health and welfare of our colleagues and customers as our number one priority.

“Tradespeople across the UK are doing outstanding work across their local communities and being in a position to open our branches seven days a week provides them with extra options when it comes to purchasing products and materials.

“We are also pleased to be begin the process of opening our cafes under a takeaway only policy.

“Our branch cafes won’t all open at once, but where it is safe and possible to do so, they will be available to customers from 3 August.”

Branches will now be open 6.30am-6pm Monday to Friday – apart from Wembley which closes at 5pm – 7am-4pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
