Seven fantastic projects using SSQ’s natural slate and phyllite have been named finalists in the prestigious Pitched Roofing Awards.
Founded by Roofing, Cladding and Insulation magazine, the event is now into its fifth year and exists to celebrate the achievements of contractors, manufacturers and suppliers from throughout the industry.
An innovative installation carried out by Maguire Brothers using SSQ slate to reroof Barnes Methodist Church has been shortlisted for Best Use of Slate for a Commercial Project – photovoltaic slates were fitted amongst the natural material on two 50-degree roofs and one flat roof.
Stannington Infants School, installed by Martin-Brooks (Roofing Specialists) was shortlisted in the same category.
The Berry Barns project, carried out with Hiax Preservation, has been shortlisted for Best Use of a Heritage Roof.
In the Best Use of Slate for a Residential Project category, no less than four SSQ projects took finalist spots – Salters Farm with G R Regan Roofing, Packington Hall with G&M Roofing Services, Tregenna with P Chapman Construction and The Lakes with Marden Homes.
Winners will be revealed at a luxurious awards evening held at Manchester’s Midland Hotel on the 25 November 2022.
