SIG UK has hosted a successful charity fundraising gala in aid of the Rainy Day Trust and Cancer Research UK, with over 200 representatives of the UK building products supply chain gathering at London’s Underglobe.
The event raised over £50,000, which SIG then split between the two nominated charities.
Hosted by celebrity impressionist Rory Bremner, the inaugural charity gala event on 24 November 2021 included a silent auction running throughout the evening combined with a raffle which raised over £2,000 from prizes donated by suppliers.
This comes after SIG’s new management team has established a Charity Committee to co-ordinate group-wide events and initiatives ‘ed by serial fundraiser Ian Dryden.
Ian was delighted with the success of the evening, saying: “I was blown away by the generosity of our suppliers and business partners and their enthusiasm to support these two thoroughly deserving causes.
“I have always believed that supporting charitable causes should be part of my daily life and I am delighted that the management team at SIG agree and are putting the weight of the Group behind our fundraising activities.
“With the success of this first gala event, I am hoping to make it an annual fixture in the SIG calendar.”
