SIG Roofing re-opens fire-damaged Dundee branch

SIG Roofing’s Dundee branch re-opened today [11 September] after a fire engulfed the warehouse, branch and sales office back in February, forcing the business to shut.

In the aftermath of the fire, which happened on 27 February, and throughout the rebuilding process, the staff in Dundee have worked hard to ensure that its business as usual. For instance, while the building underwent repairs, the staff continued to trade on site for customers.

George Stewart, regional director for SIG, said: “The staff have been phenomenal; throughout the entire process they’ve really worked hard. Thanks to their efforts the branch was able to operate on site from the Wednesday after the fire, albeit with reduced capacity working alongside the construction team who were building the new branch. This helped ensure customers’ needs were met.”

Branch manager Paul Morrison who has worked with the architects and contractors to ensure the branch will re-open and be the best it can be.

Reflecting on the past few months, he said: “It has been tough, but we’ve powered through. We’re looking forward to opening and being able to better serve the local area.”
