Södra, the supply partners of structural timber and engineered wood products, has launched a brand-new website for its UK timber customers.

The site, which went live on Tuesday 22 January, will serve as a go-to source of information for those interested in specifying and working with timber.

Nigel Buckley-Ryan, Great Britain and Ireland sales director for merchants at Södra, explained: “Södra is a cooperative of over 51,000 Swedish forest-owners, producing timber for customers around the globe. The UK is one of our largest markets, so it is really important to have a UK-focused website that provides in-depth information about our products, and our commitment to growing a sustainable timber supply. It’s also a significant step forward in Södra’s commitment to be the industry’s most digitally-focused company.”

The site comprises a host of product information, specific customer pages and up-to-date news from both Södra and the timber sector in general, as well as an image library for customers recommending, selling or marketing Södra products. Nigel describes the website as “an easy-to-navigate, digital timber hub that’s set to become a must-see for all those that wish to keep right up to speed with the latest timber developments.”

Jeremy English, Great Britain and Ireland sales director for manufacturers at Södra, added: “Timber has been described as a ‘miracle’ building material – and for us there is no doubt that it can overcome many of today’s construction challenges, from helping to meet government housing targets to increasing speed and agility of construction dramatically.

“Timber is absolutely the best method for sustainable construction, and we believe this website will not only answer specific questions on product and specification but help us to spread that all important timber message.”
