SolarSense crowned for a second time at Green Energy Awards

SolarsenseBristol-based renewable energy installer SolarSense has been named Installer of the Year at the South West Green Energy Awards.

The accolade makes it the second company in the awards’ 11-year history to have won the award twice, after it previously took the title in 2012.

The award was announced at a ceremony held at the Bath Assembly Rooms, organised by Regen SW and hosted by performance poet Matt Harvey.

According to SolarSense, the Green Energy Award judges were impressed with it’s performance record and the fact that the company has delivered more than 150 on-roof installations with over 2MW+ total capacity. These include the UK’s largest and second-largest single-site local authority systems, as well as large installations for companies such as Brabantia.

Stephen Barrett from SolarSense, who collected the award at the ceremony, said: “It’s wonderful news that we have won this award for a second time and greatly reassuring that not only our customers but also the industry that we work in recognises the quality of the work that we carry out. Our vision and a desire has always been to provide great installations and reliable systems and this is something that will continue to drive the company forward.”

He added: “It’s been a huge team effort and it’s particularly pleasing that we have carried out our community energy schemes this year after many years of planning.”

Merlin Hyman, chief executive of Regen SW, said: “SolarSense have consistently shown themselves to be an exemplar renewable energy installer that provides exceptional customer service and gives renewable energy a good name. They have provided excellent solutions and it’s reassuring to note that 100% of their household installations come as a result of referrals from others that they have carried out work for. Their introduction of community solar schemes has been a great addition to their installations too, and it’s fitting that they have now won this award twice.”
