The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has announced that from 21 August, small businesses and sole traders could receive up to £21,000 in grants if they scrap up to three non ULEZ-compliant vans.

He also announced, in a Twitter thread, along with a raft of updates to the ULEZ scrappage grant scheme, that from today [4 August], grants to replace non-compliant vans with electric vans has increased from £7,500 to £9,000 (a Ford E-Transit starts at £42,695).

The ULEZ scheme was deemed lawful by the High Court last week after its legality was challenged by several London boroughs and has brought the attention of John Newcomb, CEO of the Builders Merchants Federation.
