Darren Greenwell has joined Baumit as a business development manager, a role that involves building profitable relationships with principal contractors, housebuilders, contractors and architects in order to further raise the company’s profile.
Although work will see him travelling countrywide, Darren is principally based at Baumit’s HQ in Aylesford, Kent.
Before joining Baumit in July, Darren, who has 15 years’ experience in the render industry, held numerous business management roles in sectors including sales and housebuilding. He said his aptitude for ‘service quality and attention to detail’ was honed in a logistics role he held whilst working for Bernie Ecclestone. “In that fast-paced, high-profile environment, you have to deliver,” Darren said. “Come the day of a race with the whole world watching, you can’t be missing a handful of vital equipment. Working with one of the most successful businessmen in the world instilled a sense of diligence and duty that has remained with me ever since.”
Explaining his vision for Baumit and his personal aspiration, Darren, who lives in Cliffe Woods in north Kent, added: “I want to be part of the Baumit journey as it progresses to the next level and beyond. My initial ambition is to make Baumit the go-to render supplier for London and the South East. Then, it’s my target is to make them number one in the UK. In my so-far short time with the company I’ve seen enough to make me confident of achieving both goals comfortably.”
