Bracknell Roofing, part of Avonside Group Services, has announced that three roofing projects, all run by one of its senior contract managers, Andy Brooks, have gained site-wide success with the associated site managers all being awarded prestigious NHBC Pride in the Job awards.

The three NHBC awards went to site managers working on the Fairfields site located in Milton Keynes, the Lyveden Fields site and the Lake View site at Priors Hall Park, with the latter two sites both situated in Corby, Northamptonshire. The award-winning trio of sites were all for builders, Barratt and David Wilson Homes Northampton.

Under the successful leadership of Andy, Bracknell Roofing operatives enjoyed completing all the associated lead flashings and carrying out roof tiling using Russell Roof Tiles Lothian or Grampian tiles, which both provide the traditional appearance of slate and clay tiles or a small format tile, whilst boasting the commercial benefits of concrete, on each of the three high achieving projects.

Speaking about the NHBC Pride in the Job recognition, Andy said: “I have enjoyed working on these projects and I’m delighted to be associated with these sites. It was a challenge at times, but I am proud that we were able to provide the continuity of labour to achieve the quality and speed of the construction demanded.”

The Fairfields site will eventually become part of a 2,200-home estate. Bracknell’s current role involves working on 165 units mainly comprising of detached houses, along with several apartment blocks. The Bracknell team are proud to have tiled at the speed and high quality required on this very fast-moving development, led by meticulous site manager, and multiple NHBC award winner, Roy Kelly.

Over in Corby, the Lyveden Fields site consisted of 78 plots, which, again, were mostly detached homes. All the plots were designed in such a way that meant they could not be completed in one go, resulting in multiple return visits to this fast-paced site to complete the roof where tiling and mortar work was blended in expertly. At 26-years-old, Jack Davey, site manager at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Northampton, would have been one of the youngest NHBC award winners.

On the east side of Corby, 88 houses with associated low levels and garages made up the Lake View site. Bracknell Roofing was asked to take over from another roofing contractor and was able to quickly catch up with the scheme’s programme and maintain the site’s rapidly developing pace. The Barratt site manager responsible for Lake View, Darren Price has also been named the Site Manager of the Year for his region in Barratt and David Wilson Homes Northampton’s company-wide competition.
