Announcing the appointment, president of BRUFMA Kevin Bohea said: “We are very pleased to have Simon joining us as the new CEO of BRUFMA. His previous experience of working in the construction industry, whilst at the CPA, will prove invaluable to our organisation.”

Previously head of communications at BACTA, Simon was communications and external affairs director at the Construction Products Association (CPA) for seven years, he also worked for the architect Levitt Bernstein, Shoreditch New Deal for Communities project, as well as 10 years for the Channel Tunnel project during its construction phase.

Commenting on his appointment, Simon Storer said: “I am delighted to be taking on the position as chief executive for BRUFMA during what is likely to be a hugely interesting and challenging time, both for the UK as a whole and specifically for the construction manufacturing sector. Although there are many uncertainties that the UK is facing, there is no doubt that energy efficiency of the built environment will remain a national objective and key to the UK hitting its climate change targets. PIR insulation is essential to this and BRUFMA members will continue to play a leading role in ensuring buildings perform to the highest standard.”
