Keith Barker has been appointed as managing director of Wienerberger, a provider of building material solutions, following a wider European management reorganisation, which will see the current MD, Harald Schwarzmayr, take the position of COO of Pipelife North & Western Europe.
Keith, who is Wienerberger UK’s commercial director, has been on the UK board for more than seven years and is said to have played a key role in shaping the strategy of the business. He will assume the new role of managing director from September 2017.
Keith commented: “I’m delighted to be taking on the role of managing director of Wienerberger’s UK operations. Having worked within the senior management team for over seven years, I am excited to be taking this next step and helping further shape and mould Wienerberger’s future within the UK. We’ve seen some fantastic growth under Harald’s time as managing director and I’m keen to continue to expand on this success.”
Over the last ten years Wienerberger UK says it has delivered strong organic growth following a period of rapid acquisitions in the previous decade. Wienerberger UK is also said to be spearheading the Digital Construction movement, with a specific focus on supply chain management and marketing.
