Tim Acland has been appointed as general manager of the Federation of Traditional Metal Roofing Contractors (FTMRC) and the Lead Contractors Association (LCA).

He is taking over from Ray Robertson who is retiring, having devoted his career to building the FTMRC and the LCA within the hard metals roofing sector.

Speaking about his new role, Tim said: “I’d like to thank Ray for all that he has achieved for both organisations. There are exciting opportunities ahead that we intend to grasp; these may be challenging times, but we shall strive to shape and develop for the future, working hard to benefit all of our members, associates and our industry.”

Chris Salmon, chairman of the FTMRC, added: “As the world’s largest traditional metal roofing federation, our members are operating in a rapidly developing market, and we need to adapt and keep pace with emerging technologies and systems. We are excited to have Tim onboard to strengthen our team and help drive us forward.”

Meanwhile, Mike Hempstock, chairman of the LCA, concluded: “The LCA welcomes Tim with his depth of experience and understanding to build on our firm foundations.”
