The Guttercrest Group has appointed Richard Geater as head of façades for its new rainscreen division called Husk Architectural.

Richard joined Guttercrest earlier this year to lead the development of the Husk Architectural product range, which now includes aluminium, ACM, high pressure laminate and fibre cement rainscreen cladding.

He has a wealth of previous experience in the cladding industry, previously serving for eight- and-a-half years with 3A Composites as country sales manager, where he grew sales past €10 million. Prior to that, Richard was a technical sales manager with Specialist Composites, commercial director at Guilform, and a project manager with Technology Telford.

Richard has already forged partnerships with suppliers 3A Composites GmbH, Mitsubishi, Formica and Valcan, which will offer Husk customers a choice of cladding materials.  Further partnerships with Nvelope and Hilti means that the firm can offer a robust carrier system with their rainscreen. His other responsibilities include the launch of Husk Architectural into the UK rainscreen cladding market as the firm prepares to take a bigger share of the growing facades market.

Commenting on Richard’s appointment, Gary Power, managing director of the Guttercrest Group, said: “Richard brings a tremendous depth of product knowledge and experience to join us at a time of huge growth for the business. He joins an already successful and motivated team who share our ambition to become the go-to manufacturer for façades and bespoke fabrications.”
