The Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA) has elected Fraser Maitland, managing director of Protan UK, to its Council.
Fraser brings a decade of experience in polymer roofing, complimented by a further five years managing the development of industrial textiles, including to the construction industry. He has been involved in textiles all his working life.
Mr Maitland commented: “I am looking forward to the challenge of raising the profile of PVC roofing membranes within the industry. Protan operates five plants across Europe, and is one of the biggest manufacturers of thermoplastic roofing membranes in the world. It is therefore great its market sector is represented on Britain’s leading trade association. On a personal level, I enjoy pushing boundaries to achieve results.
“We are on the cusp of an exciting time for single ply roofing, and as an industry have great opportunities to grow our business and encourage diverse thinking in design and construction of the fifth façade.”
