A look at brick slip cladding

An increasingly popular choice for architects and specifiers, brick slip cladding offers a cost-effective alternative to traditional bricks and mortar which reduces time on site and achieves a genuine brick finish.

Leading brick slip cladding manufacturer and proud sponsor of the 2022 Façade Awards UK, Stofix is the only pre-pointed, mechanically fixed brick slip cladding that is fire rated over 18m. With no height limit, Stofix is mechanically fixed utilising a metal backing plate and the patented system gives specifiers the flexibility to choose almost any brick.

Alex Porter, operations director for Stofix UK, explains: “The unique system is pre-pointed and manufactured off-site which reduces time on site. Stofix also reduces the environmental impact compared to traditional bricks and mortar, the product is made from recyclable materials, metals and kiln-fired bricks.”

The completed panels are delivered direct to building sites ready to be installed quickly and efficiently using a unique modularised mounting system, the installed panels require minimal pointing.

Stofix is BBA Certified, has a 60-year Design Life and 20-year manufacture warranty. The Stofix team guarantee comprehensive design responsibility and end-to-end consultancy throughout the project. Stofix UK provide a nationwide service and currently we work within the education, residential, commercial and retail sectors. Porter continues: “Stofix worked on the award-winning Urbanest Vauxhall student accommodation rising to 32 stories. The project is the first brick-clad building over 90 metres in the UK.”

Stofix Oy was established in 1993 in Finland and its products are distributed worldwide. In 2020 Stofix UK was established with headquarters in Derby, the business continues to see significant growth nationwide.
