Tata Steel is celebrating 25 years of its Confidex Guarantee. Launched in 1992, the guarantee is said to provide the most comprehensive protection for branded pre-finished steel products used in roof and wall cladding applications. The companys says that the guarantee also provides peace of mind for the building owner as well as the supply chain.
The Confidex Guarantee is the product performance guarantee for Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra and Colorcoat Prisma. It offers up to 40 years protection when used in external conventional building envelope applications, namely roof and wall cladding using single skin, built-up or composite panel construction in industrial and commercial buildings.
Provided directly to the building owner, the guarantee reportedly creates a contractual relationship between the end client and Tata Steel, removing the need for a property owner to navigate the supply chain in the event of a claim.

The Confidex Guarantee is said to go much further than the number of years on the guarantee. Through years of experience, the support for guarantees has evolved to provide a clear and simple service, which includes an online registration process. Reportedly offering numerous building owner benefits, the guarantee’s key features include:
- Factory cut edges being covered for the entirety of the guarantee.
- Cover for Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra under photovoltaic (PV) modules for the full guarantee period.
- Fully transferable should building ownership change.
- Flashings included, if registered for at the same time as the roof and / or wall using Colorcoat branded products
- Full rectification in the event of a claim.
