The construction industry Dragon Boat Challenge will return to the shores of Manchester and London, in June, with up to 40 crews expected to take to the waters to raise money for charity.
The two events will be held in Salford Quays, Manchester, on Wednesday June 3 and West Reservoir, London on Thursday June 25 2015 and will raise funds for the construction and property industry’s charity for homeless people, CRASH.
Dragon boat racing involves up to ten people paddling each 30ft boat, with a drummer at the front beating time and a helm at the tail steering a straight course. No previous experience is required to enter, and the organisers of this year’s event say it offers the perfect opportunity to try something completely different, motivate staff and build morale and entertain clients and suppliers.
CRASH’s patron companies Carillion, Knauf Insulation and EC Harris have already confirmed their places for the 2015 events, alongside a number of other industry leaders.
For those heading to the events, standard entry includes access to the facilities of the venues hosting the races; qualified helms, dragon boards and equipment; at least three races per crew; a gourmet barbecue and side entertainments; a œ200 donation to CRASH and more.
