Checkatrade has launched the Job Estimate Calculator and the Home Health Report.
The company said its Job Estimate Calculator leverages real-world data from over 1.5m completed jobs across Checkatrade’s network of 50,000 vetted trade businesses, to generate accurate price estimates for a wide range of home improvement and maintenance tasks.
The tool accounts for location-specific costs, seasonal demand fluctuations and optional inclusion of material estimates.
Checkatrade noted that this innovation enables consumers to get a clearer sense of a fair price, helping them make more informed hiring decisions while also reinforcing trust in professional tradespeople.
Research from Checkatrade revealed that 37% of consumers receive a written quote before work starts. The company said the calculator provides them with a price benchmark, safeguarding against rogue trades and promoting better quoting practices for trusted tradespeople.
Alongside this, the newly launched Home Health Report provides a digital property condition check powered by AI. Consumers upload photos of their home’s exterior to receive an instant assessment on energy efficiency, maintenance issues and property value. They are also given tailored trade recommendations of which trades would be a good fit for the job via Checkatrade’s trusted network.
