Julie Fisher, UK CEO at Simply Business, said: “UK tradespeople have faced a challenging year in 2024, with rising costs, tool theft, and material shortages all contributing to a decrease in turnover. Despite these difficulties, the trades sector has shown resilience.

“We’re proud to insure over 200,000 tradespeople across the UK, and we understand the vital role they play in both local communities and the wider economy. Small and independent businesses are crucial to our collective success, and we encourage consumers to support them by choosing local tradespeople whenever possible.”
