Over 12,000 people have now attended a Greenworks course, either at the major purpose-designed Training Academy in Birmingham or at one of the recently introduced mobile training workshops, touring the country.
Greenworks says it is now a recognised authority in sustainable building solutions. The organisation has delivered training to a wide range of contractors and installers, bringing them up to date on the latest products and helping them make the most of the growing opportunities in the ‘green building’ sector.
Marcus Jefford, marketing and operations director at Greenworks said: “This is a landmark both for Greenworks and for the sustainable building industry as a whole. The fact that so may people have committed to improving their skills, shows real confidence that sustainability is going to be more and more important in building design, maintenance and operation.”
Courses currently available at the academy include: solar thermal, solar PV, heat pumps, rainwater harvesting, underfloor heating, external wall insulation (EWI) and internal wall insulation (IWI).
In addition, Greenworks runs courses leading to the main Government and industry-backed qualifications for this sector, plus assessor courses and CPDs to enable professionals to carry out energy assessments on both existing and new dwellings and commercial properties.
Customers have called the courses “Excellent with very useful content” and rated instructors as “knowledgeable and helpful.”
Marcus continued: “The courses usually have a mix of hands-on and theory based sessions. This allows specifiers and tradespeople to understand the principles and have the opportunity to test out the ‘reality’ of installing these new products in a safe environment.
“We have the space in the purpose-designed Greenworks Academy for large scale demonstration and practice areas and now, with the new mobile training courses, we are in a great position to target the next milestone of 250,000 hours of training delivered.”
