Following an investment in excess of £500,000, Chandlers Roofing Supplies is planning to open a new branch on Barnett Wood Lane in Leatherhead with a unique drive-thru service.
This service element is hugely welcomed by local roofers who will now be able to load up their supplies in the dry, all year round. Speaking about the opening, customer Tim Sayers of TJS Roofing, said: “It’s really great to see a new business opening up in these challenging times. We’re looking forward to visiting the new premises.”
James Palfreyman will manage the branch, which will also be providing new, local employment opportunities. He said: “We are keen to support roofers in the area and provide new local employment opportunities and get everyone back to work. The drive-thru facility will allow customers to collect their supplies in the dry all year round. We are looking forward to opening, in line with government guidelines, by mid-May.”
Speaking on behalf of the Independent Builders Merchant Group (IBMG), Sue McKinney, said: “This is really good, positive news for Leatherhead, particularly at the moment. From speaking with the trades over recent weeks, it is very clear that they are keen to get back to work. There is no doubt that new openings like this will help build support and confidence in the local economy.”
The new business, located at Unit 1 Business Park 8, Barnett Wood Lane, Leatherhead, will open for deliveries only or deliveries and collections by mid-May, in line with the government’s social distancing guidelines that are currently in place.
