Friday, September 2, 2016, saw nearly 250 figures from the Welsh housebuilding industry gather at the National Housebuilding Council’s (NHBC) 36th Pride in the Job Regional Awards ceremony in Cardiff City Hall.
Regional award winners Steve Northam (Large category) from Taylor Wimpey South Wales, Dale Dickenson (Medium category) from Llanmoor Homes and John Greggain from L Greggain & Co (Small category), were selected from more than 16,000 UK site managers, and were recognised at a ceremony held at Cardiff City Hall.
A further eight sites were awarded Seals of Excellence and the Regional award winners will now go on to compete for the Supreme Awards to be announced in January 2017.
For 36 years the NHBC has been rewarding the best site managers in the UK delivering the high quality homes the country needs.
Congratulating the winners on their awards, Paul Edwards, regional director for the NHBC, said: “Pride in the Job is now firmly established as a significant proof of distinction for the best site managers in the UK. The fact that winners are automatically entered into the competition based on the results of their work on site is a huge endorsement for all winners.
“It’s been a tough year of judging starting way back in July 2015 and it’s a long hard road to win a Pride in the Job Award. The Awards recognise site managers who know how to go one stage better, whose hard work ensures we live in high quality homes and rewards dedication and expertise.
“Last year NHBC registered nearly 4,700 new homes in Wales, site managers play an important role in delivering these. By recognising exceptional site managers like these, Pride in the Job promotes continuous improvement in the quality of new homes, year on year, for homeowners and their families to enjoy.”
