The UK Green Building Council (UK-GBC) and PRP have announced the opening of nominations for the fifth annual Rising Star award.
The award recognises an individual’s vision and success in highlighting the importance of sustainability and environmental performance in building, and driving lasting change in their organisation or the wider sector.
Nominated candidates should be able to demonstrate one or all of the following characteristics:
- Use innovative techniques for sharing knowledge, communicating and promoting greener approaches
- Engage colleagues and peers on sustainability issues to stimulate discussion and debate
- Play a key role in either changing their organisation’s working methods, challenging policy, promoting or improving sustainability performance
- Undertake activities outside of their job role to promote or communicate sustainability issues.
Andrew Mellor, partner of PRP, said: “We are thrilled to see the Rising Star Award in its fifth year. Last year saw the largest number of nominations and the most diverse in terms of discipline and our hope is to surpass this yet again. It is always great to see the nominees’ entries and we are excited to showcase the stars of the industry at Ecobuild 2017.”
The 2017 winner will be announced during a seminar and drinks reception on Wednesday, March 8, in the City Hall area at Ecobuild 2017. The UK-GBC and PRP will also launch a collection of thought leadership pieces exploring how we can make sustainability in the built environment mainstream.
Nominations close at 12pm on Friday, December 16.
