A big-hearted member of the SIG Roofing team is putting his singing skills to good use by hosting a series of fundraising ‘lockdown concerts’ – all from his front lawn.

Andy Morse, south west compliance manager at SIG Roofing, has so far raised nearly £2,000 for a host of good causes, including Cancer Research UK.

Andy, who has performed in pubs and clubs for more than 20 years, started his ‘Live from the Lawns’ sessions, which are also streamed online, as a way of bringing neighbours together during lockdown.

The Gloucestershire-based singer, who specialises in pop and rock from the 1960s and 70s, is also using the performances to raise vital funds for Rodley House, a care home local to Andy. A livestream concert hosted last month raised more than £200 for the care home, with a follow-up gig planned live from Rodley House this Christmas.

Speaking about his fundraising efforts, Andy said: “This is a difficult time for everyone, with people up and down the country really missing the buzz and excitement of a live music show. That’s what first led me to launch my ‘Live on the Lawn’ concerts, and I’ve been blown away by the reception so far.

“Everyone has been so generous in donating to some worthwhile causes that are very close to my heart, and it’s been great to see neighbours out in their gardens enjoying a socially-distanced sing along and dance!”

Andy’s next musical fundraiser will take place on Friday 5 June, 2020, with all proceeds this time going to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.
