Flex-R has kicked off the first of a series of new appointments in newly created roles within the business as part of ambitious growth plans.
Michael Iddenden-Smith has joined as specification manager for the south of England, and he will be responsible for developing the specification side of the business for the High Wycombe-based company.
His role will encompass two key remits. The first is to support the company’s tier-one roofing contractors, who may need additional resources to tender for projects where a greater level of specification may be required. The other is to build links with specifiers and architects to get Flex-R’s range of specialist products, such as RubberBond, Sure-Weld and LQD-R, specified for forthcoming projects – which, in turn, will provide a pipeline of tenders for its tier-one contractors.
Michael brings more than 15 years’ experience to the new role and is hitting the ground running by initially focusing his efforts within the M25 area.
“Flex-R has three fantastic systems, so there is a real opportunity to get them specified into a wider range of different projects, from simple domestic projects up to larger commercial installations,” said Michael.
National sales manager, Danny Cole, said: “Michael knows flat roofing because he has experience from the merchant side and as a consultant, so we have high hopes for him. Having introduced the dedicated specification manager role recently, we already know that it is able to generate more than £1 million of turnover in a six-month period.”
