Icopal has recently welcomed Andrew Lawton as its new managing director, bringing with him over 20 years’ construction experience both nationally and globally.
Prior to Icopal, Mr Lawton held the role of vice president of Building, Construction & Agriculture at Polymer Group Incorporated (PGI).
For these specialty sheet materials businesses, he was responsible for long term strategic & profitability development, including marketing, product development & sales. This included fundamental restructuring of the European roofing and geosynthetic businesses in 2014.
Mr Lawton’s experience in the UK construction sector has also seen him hold the positions of sales & marketing director at Sandtoft Roof Tiles and head of commercial & export sales at NSG Pilkington Building Products.
Icopal says that Mr Lawton joins the company at an exciting time, with it having just been acquired by GAF, in a move that will see the businesses combine to effectively become the world’s largest roofing manufacturer.
Speaking of his new appointment, Mr Lawton commented: “As a strong brand name in the waterproofing sector, Icopal is a great company to join. I am looking forward to leading the major supplier into its new era with GAF and continuing to grow business sales, product ranges and applications.”
