The doors for the new SPV Training Hub which has been created in conjunction with Juniper Training officially open on August 27, 2019.
The 24-week Vocational Pathway course available to 16 to 18 years olds will be run half from the newly purpose-built workshop on the SPV site in Walsall and half from the Juniper Training Centre in Walsall.
This bespoke course has been developed with the industry in mind with a view to bringing new entrants into our industry and starting them on their construction career pathway.
The course will equip young people aged 16-18 with everything they need to be construction-site-ready to progress into employment or onto an apprenticeship.
Upon completion students will have gained a CSCS Card, Level 1 Introduction to Construction, Manual Handling, Asbestos Awareness and Manual Handling Training as well as hands-on industry-specific practical training. Where needed, students can also do GCSE retakes and/or English and maths functional skills qualifications.
We’d like to invite all colleagues in the industry along to the official launch at Banks Stadium, Walsall on July 5.
The event will showcase our industry and the great opportunities within roofing.
We would love for industry role models to join us at the event to showcase career options and opportunities and speak to the new apprentices and others interested in construction about their career journey and experiences to ensure the roofing and cladding sector continues to thrive!
Buffet lunch will be provided and the ribbon cutting ceremony will be conducted by a special guest attendee.
