SR Timber bids fond farewell to Derby HQ

Staff at SR Timber are preparing to say a fond farewell to their head office in Derby ahead of a move to larger premises at the end of November.

The company has outgrown its home, which is in the shadow of Derby County’s iPro Stadium on Pride Park.

Trading director Shaun Revill said that business continues to boom for the company and although the staff will be sad to leave their Derby ‘home’, they are excited about the relocation to its new premises.

He commented: “All the staff – and many of our valued customers – have come to consider Derby as the home of SR Timber, but the simple truth is that we’ve outgrown our premises and desperately need more space to continue with the ambitious growth plans we have set ourselves.

“We’re about to start a new chapter in the story of SR Timber, but we can’t help having a lot of affection for a HQ that has served us well and has been a real springboard for the growth of the company.”

Shaun says it’s no coincidence that the move to a larger HQ comes in the wake of new roofing standards that came in a couple of years ago.

He continued: “We have been at the forefront of embracing BS5534 and working with roofers to make sure they have roofing batten that is fully compliant with the new rules.

“Sales of our highest grade of roofing batten, Premium Gold, have rocketed because roofers know and trust it. Our batten is sustainably sourced from slow-grown timber, fully compliant to both BS 8417:2011 + A1:2014 and BS5534:2014, approved by the NFRC and NHBC, and comes with a 60-year warranty against insect attack and wood rotting fungi (when installed above dpc level in buildings).

“And roofers love the fact that in partnership with Timberex, we effectively have our own sawmill, which means that we have complete control over our supply chain to ensure a constant supply of stock.

“There’s never been a better time to be part of SR Timber, and our team are all looking forward to what happens next.”
