Wienerberger has donated roof tiles to a prototype low energy building that is to be used to offer practical training for architecture students from schools across the country.
The Bark Livebuild project from Studio Bark is intended to help bridge the gap between architectural education and onsite applications. As part of the two month build, architect David Levitt OBE provided a site and brief for Studio Bark to construct a prototype low-energy timber frame building.
Wienerberger has donated Greenwood handmade clay roof tiles, from its Sandtoft range for the roof of the building. The tiles were specified as a result of their sustainable credentials, alongside the design benefits they bring to the project.
Alongside the donation of products, Wienerberger has also supported the project on a technical level by organising for Matt Timby, a two time Skillbuild Gold medallist, to provide his expertise to the group during the construction phase.

It’s great to see how the team have been looking to hone the technical skills of young architects whilst creating something with very strong ecological credentials.”
